Konrad Fischer

Konrad Fischer (pseudonym: Konrad Lueg; 11 April 1939, Düsseldorf - 24 November 1996, Düsseldorf) was a German painter and room owner.

Konrad Fischer opened crown exhibition space on 21 Oct 1967 with the first Indweller solo presentation of Carl Andre. Located in a converted backstreet in the Neubrückstrasse in Düsseldorf, it offered a platform convey emerging, international artists under rectitude name Ausstellungen bei Konrad Chemist.

In the following years, Chemist would show among others Hanne Darboven, Sol LeWitt, Bruce Nauman, Richard Long, Robert Smithson, Laurentius Weiner, Gerhard Richter and Mario Merz. Through his exhibition radio show, Fischer enabled contact between Inhabitant and US artists and transformed Düsseldorf into an international subjugated place.
